John Cardiel Autograph
About two months ago, I had a conversation with Jim Thiebaud [owner of Deluxe Distribution] about sending me a pair of trucks. Unable to find the particular ones, he sent me something even better. I requested for an autograph of one of his pro skaters and today, I recieved a sick Anti-Hero Skateboards sticker bearing John Cardiel's autograph in heavy silver ink!
John Cardiel is one of the best skaters to roll in magazines, videos, and contests. In 1992, he won the coveted Thrasher Skater of the Year Award. In 2003, an unfortunate injury left him unable to skate the way he used to. But with all he has contributed, John Cardiel's name is still seen in the industry. Pretty much at a living legend status. He was even a playable character in Skate 3 and his sponsors; Anti-Hero and Vans, continue to release his pro model boards and shoes.
This one's for Cards! Seeing you skate the highest airs, the longest noseblunts, and the gnarliest rails is a true privelege and I will treasure this autograph just as much as my others. Thank you also to Jim Thiebaud and everyone else of DLXSF.

Fourstar x Ashbury
Switch Pickering is having a store closing sale. Amazing deals are going on such as $40 pants and $10 tees. Taking advantage of these prices, I tripped down there to scoop this Fourstar t-shirt.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. New York Mets
Yesterday afternoon, me and the brothers caught an interleague game at the Rogers Centre as the Blue Jays played against my favourite NL team; the New York Mets. I got one day to cheer for the orange and blue, so I sported my Gary Carter jersey for this one occassion. Here are a few pics from the near sold out game on an amazing Sunday afternoon in Toronto.
Section 134 represent! Definitely the best coworkers at the dome. Here is where I usually am when I'm working at the games. Felt terrible after seeing how busy it was however.
Mets won 6-5 and avoided a series sweep.

Billy Ocean x Love Really Hurts Without You
This song's been in my head all day and it should be in yours too.

Adam Yauch, 1964-2012
Earlier today, Adam Yauch, member of the legendary hip-hop group Beastie Boys, passed away at the age of 47 from complications of cancer. A true pioneer in the music industry, he was recently inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with the Beastie Boys and recieved several Grammy and MTV Awards. Such a sad loss to the music industry, his legacy lives on through the great songs he's MC'd for.

Sorry for the late header. But school and work haven't made my free time easy. The Ultimate Warrior will grace the blog for May. Check out these classic clips of the wrestler during his prime.
