Happy New Year, readers! I'd like to start off the first post with a bang of a jersey. A long overdue post, but worth it. This past summer, I acquired a Montreal Royals Jackie Robinson jersey. Robinson played for the Class AAA International League's Montreal Royals in 1946.
Made by Ebbets Field Flannels, this is the road grey style made entirely of wool flannel. The Montreal wordmark on the front and 9 are embroidered. Great quality work from EFF and even though I purchased this secondhand, the quality is definitely built to last.
Back in 2016, my brother and sister in-law blessed me with an EFF Montreal Royals ball cap.
For 124 games played in a Montreal Royals jersey, Jackie Robinson registered 155 hits, 3 HR, 66 RBI, and 40 stolen bases. The next year, he was called up the the Montreal Royals MLB affiliate; Brooklyn Dodgers.
