Montreal Maroons

This past weekend, we took a trip downtown and a store called The Sport Gallery caught my attention. That's where I picked up this Montreal Maroons fitted cap by Ebbets Field Flannels.


The cap is made entirely of wool felt with satin underneath the brim. It was on display at the front window and even though I didn't know the team, I thought it was cool because it had a big M on it.


The Maroons were one of the city's teams in the NHL from 1924 to 1938 and were the original tenants for the Montreal Forum. They won the Stanley Cup twice [1926, 1935] and have eleven former players in the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Zephyr x Los Angeles Kings x LRG

I'm pretty stoked on this gift from a close friend of mine. A few years ago, the LRG Skateboard Team did a signing in my hometown and all he had was this Los Angeles Kings snapback, and the team was really amped on it because most of them are from California. Nevertheless, he wanted me to have it and I reluctantly accepted.

Really stoked on this pickup from Real Sports Apparel during last night's game. You can never go wrong with black and red and the detail on the stitching is incredible.

Toronto Raptors vs. Milwaukee Bucks

Last night, I attended my first Raptors game of the season. I was expecting a good game, but did not expect a massive beatdown against the visiting Milwaukee Bucks. Toronto won, 124-82, and remain at the top of the Eastern Conference.


One major standout about this game was to finally see their 2014 first round draft pick Bruno Caboclo get some minutes.


"Free" is my favourite four letter F word. T-shirt tosses are the best!


No trip to the Air Canada Centre is compete without a selfie. Such a shame the ushers are bad photographers. Good times are best shared with great people.

Christian Hosoi Signing at West 49

This past Saturday, legendary pro skater Christian Hosoi made an appearance at West 49 in Mississauga, ON. I was really stoked on this event and could not miss out on the opportunity. I bussed the dreadful 2 hour trip and it was well worth it.


He autographed a pair of Tech Deck Collector Series Hand Boards and a poster. The toys were really well received from the staff and the other fans in line.



Props to Kadence Dist. for putting this all together and to Mr. Christ Air himself; Christian Hosoi for an amazing event.

This past summer has given me some decent jersey pickups and here is one that's been on my list for a while. Featured here is a Nike replica of a custom made New York Nets Julius Erving jersey.

Chicago Black Hawks x Bobby Hull [1965-72]

Today's post is a vintage Chicago Black Hawks Pro Player replica jersey of "The Golden Jet," Bobby Hull.

I've been wanting a Bobby Hull jersey for a really long time, and after buying a blank uniform through an ad, I took it to Game Day Sports Archives for the custom job. This is the home style jersey with single layered tackle twill on the sleeves and back. Very simple, but classy and true to the Original Six era.

Globe Shoes x Sabre

Getting a new pair of shoes wasn't on my mind for a while until I checked out a sale wall at a sports shop. A whole bunch of Globe Shoes were on sale and felt like scooping up the Sabre model just for the hell of it. They remind me of the tech phase skate shoes went under during the early-2000s and the original price tag on these a few years ago was substantially up there. They may also look a little crazy, but they're appear much better in person and fit comfortably well.


When I mean "tech phase," these really have a bunch of bells and whistles on them to push the envelope. Features include Nitrocel Impact Support [whatever that is] and an Integrated Inner Sock [I think I know what that means].


On the bottom of the shoe is the S-Trac. Again, not sure what it is - but sounds cool anyways. Regardless of what the description on the website says, these will definitely be skated in.

Lakai Canadian Stupor Tour

Yesterday was a pretty sweet day for the skateboarders of Toronto. Members of the Lakai Footwear team kicked off their Stupor Tour with a signing at Blue Tile Lounge and a demo at Dunbat. I was able to meet a few of my favourite pros and the new talent coming up. Here are a few pics of what went on that day.

Having both Marc Johnson and Rick Howard in the same picture is always epic.


Lui Correia designed the graphic on the deck Marc Johnson is holding. It's a custom 1/1 board made specifically to coordinate with Pretty Sweet. Judging by his face and what the riders said, it was very well recieved.


For being one of the first ones in line, I was given a free tour tee shirt.

Seeing this may be my last year to skate, thought I'd grab an Almost deck.

Toronto Raptors x Chris Bosh [2003-2006]

This was a pretty interesting pickup that I thought was worth grabbing and sharing on the blog. Featured today is a home Toronto Raptors Chris Bosh jersey in the classic colours. Purchased from a classified ads, I was stoked to get this at a very good price. This post will only focus on CB4's tenure with the Toronto Raptors.


The material is made of a shiny polyester/nylon with embroidered double layered tackle twill numbers and letters. This was the style worn from 1999 to 2006 until purple was eliminated going into the 2007 season. This jersey will be stripped and turned into another player in the near future.


Chris Bosh was selected 4th overall in the 2003 NBA Draft. He was later named to the All-Rookie First Team in 2004 and played a significant role at the C/PF position. In his third year as a professional, he made his first of four straight NBA All-Star Game appearances. In 2007, he helped lead Canada's NBA team to their first Atlantic Division Championship. In 2010, he was dealt away to the Miami Heat.

Queen x Live at Wembley Stadium 25th Ann'y Edition

I remember watching this on MuchMoreMusic [when music videos and documentaries were easily available on TV] back in high school and instantly turned me into a Queen fan, especially after hearing Crazy Little Thing Called Love. The special edition DVD was a no-brainer to buy.

The Rolling Stones x Sweet Summer Sun

The Rolling Stones Sweet Summer Sun DVD documents their performance in England's Hyde Park 44 years since their free concert in 1969. Featuring timeless songs and a brief reunion with former guitarist Mick Taylor, why not add this to my collection as well?
