Quebec Nordiques x Michel Goulet [1983-84]

I was stunned to see this jersey hanging at the front of a store considering they never sell hockey sweaters. Also, the price was a less than half of what they usually go for. So without hesitation, I had to pick it up. Today's entry is a Quebec Nordiques Michel Goulet road jersey from the 1980's.

The jersey is made of a light blue mesh body with fully embroidered single layer tackle twill. Quebec Nordiques jerseys have the unique style of adding the fleur-de-lis at the bottom of the shirt as well as the shoulders which definitely stand out.

Born on 21 April 1960 in PĂ©ribonka, QC, CAN, Michel Goulet was selected by the Quebec Nordiques in 1979, the same year of the NHL-WHA merger. In his second season, he helped lead the Nordiques to the playoffs and continued to do so until 1987. From then on his total goals would improve setting him as one of the best shooters in the game. In 1989, he was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks and would call it a career in 1995.

Michel Goulet has represented Canada on 3 occassions winning bronze in 1983 and two gold medals in 1984 and 1987.
