Miami Dolphins x Dan Marino [1994-96]

This jersey was a very awesome find and the price was extremely generous and grabbed it on the spot. I present my vintage Miami Dolphins Dan Marino jersey made by Russell Athletic. I was on the hunt for this player's jersey since I sold my last one a few years ago.

The numbers are done up in two layer aqua and orange tackle twill along with the letters on top of a name bar. The sleeve logos and stripes are screened. Great quality on a vintage jersey.

It'll match really well with this Apex-1 snapback I've had for a while.

I've previously written a Dan Marino post which can be found here.

Matt Hunwick & P.A. Parenteau Signing at Pickering Markets

Pickering Markets had another Toronto Maple Leafs player signing this past Sunday featuring Matt Hunwick and P.A. Parenteau. Sorry for the fuzzy pic, I was in motion as I took it. Great signing overall and I look forward to the next one.

Toronto Raptors x Vince Carter [1998-99]

The 65th NBA All-Star Game took place in Toronto, Canada this past weekend. For the first time ever, the events took place outside of the U.S. and it was a complete success. So seeing it was in the city not too far from me, I tripped down to the Air Canada Centre and picked up a jersey on my want list; the Mitchell & Ness Toronto Raptors Vince Carter road jersey. Due to the unique construction of the uniform, this post will be a little more detailed than usual. Furthermore, this post will only cover Vince Carter's career in Toronto.

This is the road style jersey worn in Vince Carter's rookie year, the season before the organization simplified the looks. I've never really been a fan of the design to be honest seeing how their jerseys were so "busy." However, this pickup is not too shabby.

Standard on jerseys, a jock tag is applied indicating the year and player along with the brand's logo and size.

The front word mark is in two layer twill with silver stitched on black. The top material actually feels like soft grip tape which has to be seen in person to understand. The number on the front is stitched in two layer tackle twill.
The raptor logo and lightning bolt stripes are dyed into the material guaranteeing it not to fade or wash off when cleaned.

The last name contains individually stitched letters onto a dyed name bar arched across the back with silver spikes sticking out on top.
The number below is also stitched in two layer tackle twill.

Born on 26 January 1977 in Daytona Beach, FL, Vincent Lamar Carter attended UNC before coming to the Toronto Raptors on a Draft Day trade in 1998. Averaging 18.3 PPG, 1.5 BPG, and 5.7 RPG in 50 games played, he was voted as the 1999 NBA Rookie of the Year.

In his second season, he made his first All-Star Game appearance and won the Slam Dunk Contest in one of the most exciting competitions in All-Star Weekend history. He also helped the Toronto Raptors reach the playoffs for the first time. His 2000-01 season was an MVP-like year reaching the Eastern Conference Semis, the farthest the Raptors have ever gone into the playoffs.

For the next 3 seasons, he was plagued by injuries and the Raptors were unable to finish with decent records. Early into the 2004-05 season, he was traded to the New Jersey Nets thus ending the Carter Era for the city of Toronto and their basketball fans.

I don't want or need to gain respect with what I do off the court. I want respect for what I do on the court. - Vince Carter

éS Footwear x Sal 20

Scottie's, a skate shop in Whitby, is having a 50% off sale right now and I had to grab a pair of the éS Sal 20. However, footwear is always half price at the shop anyways, which makes Scottie's the perfect place for new shoes.
Designed by pro skate Sal Barbier, the sneakers are made of high quality suede on a cupsole with "20" stitched on the side to celebrate the ann'y date of its original release. Along with a triple stitched toe box, a rubber panel is added for extra protection from those ollies and flip tricks [if I can ever do them].

A few months ago, éS released this video to celebrate his career and give other pro skater's insights on his pro model.

The first time I saw Sal Barbier skate was when I downloaded Plan B's Questionable a few years ago. I've always enjoyed his trick selection and the song goes really well with him too.

Support your local skate shop and skater owned brands. Get out there and grab a pair of the éS Sal 20.
