New York Yankees x Mariano Rivera [1995-2013]

This isn't a brand new item in the collection, just a repaired one since the previous numbers were all wrong. I have to hand to Game Day Sports for their clutch work. Here is a revamped New York Yankees Mariano Rivera jersey.


I normally don't cheer for the Yankees, but I do respect some of their players and a Mariano Rivera jersey is something I did not mind owning at all. Made by Majestic Cooperstown Collection, the front logo is made of wool felt with tackle twill numbers embroidered on the back.


One of my two Yankees fitteds. It goes very well with my other classic Yankees jerseys too.


Born in Panama City, Panama, the New York Yankees signed Mariano Rivera in 1990 and began his career in the minor leagues before being called up for the 1995 season. To honour the great legend Jackie Robinson, he chose to wear the number 42. At the start of his professional playing days, he went from starting pitcher to setup before the team settled on him as the closer. Although he had a sketchy rookie year, his second season in the Bronx would be the tip of the iceberg of his stellar career.


In 1996, he would help the Yankees to an appearance to the World Series against the defending title holders; Atlanta Braves. In 14 innings, he only allowed one earned run. The next season, he would make his first All-Star Game appearance and earn his first save in Cleveland, OH. Between 1998-00, the Yankees won 3 straight World Series titles with Mariano Rivera earning World Series MVP in 1999. Ten years after that accomplishment, he would win his fifth and final ring with the club in a 6 game series against Philadelphia.


Before the 2013 season, Mariano Rivera announced he will retire at the end of the year. He was honoured by many clubs around the league and made his last All-Star Game appearance as a closer for the American League. They would defeat the National League 9-3 at Citi Field in New York City. He was awarded the All-Star Game MVP Award for his efforts. On 22 September 2013, the New York Yankees retired the no. 42 in his honour while still active and he played in his final game just four days later in the borough he started his career with. Amongst many records he owns, he is the all time leader in saves and the last player to wear that iconic number.


In 1115 games played, he has a win-loss record of 82-60, a 2.21 ERA, 1173 SO, and 1.00 WHIP. His career saves of 652 is an all-time MLB record.

The skateboarding on VHS is pretty dead, but if you dig deep enough, you might be able to uncover a few such as RDS/FSU/2002. I found this at So Hip It Hurts for an amazing $5. One of my all time favourites and a Canadian classic.

Toronto Blue Jays v. New York Mets

Last night, I was invited to my first Blue Jays game of the season against my favourite National League team; the New York Mets. This is the first of two games I'll be seeing this week. I was totally blown away by where we were sitting [my usual outfield seats are no where near this caliber]. To add icing to the cake, Toronto won 8-0! Thursday night, I'll be rooting for the orange and blue. Here are a bunch of random pics of the night.

2014 All-Star Game x Toronto Blue Jays

Picked up a new fitted at a great price. This is what the Toronto Blue Jays players wore at the 2014 MLB All-Star Game at Target Field. It's a little too big, but I couldn't pass it up.


The make is from the New Era Diamond Collection, typically worn for batting practice, this may be the norm in the later seasons. Very light weight material and perfect for hot sunny days. The cap sports the ASG patch on the left and two stars on the back beside the MLB logo.

Expedition-One x Matt Miller x Cologne & Grizzy Grip x Paul Rodriguez

The mall store was having a crazy $15 sale on everything in it. I grabbed this Expedition-One Matt Miller deck. Great company, great rider, picking it up was a no-brainer. It was also the only one not warped. I am definitely done with buying new boards.


As a bonus, I grabbed Paul Rodriguez signature grip by Grizzly.

Primitive x Sunnier in LA

Picked up a surprisingly cheap Primitive tee at So Hip It Hurts. A pretty old style, but I'm very happy about this find.

DC Shoes x Complice S

West 49 is having a pretty sweet shoe deal at their outlet location. These DC Complice S models were a steal. It's made up of a canvas/suede upper with a cupsole for a longer lasting shoe.

Just picked up a new set of wheels by Gold. Their recent video Gold Goons really sold me on them and the cost as well. This particular design can be found along the same prices of blank wheels and you know they're backed by an amazing team.

Picked up a really sweet pair of Silver Trucks from an online seller. These are the M Class model and I can't wait to set these up and grind some curbs.

Brooklyn Dodgers x Sandy Koufax [1955-57]

Here's my latest pickup to the jersey collection, I was in between which player to get, but I'm extremely happy with this Brooklyn Dodgers Sandy Koufax. This is actually the first pitcher I own, and who better than The Left Arm of God?


I bought the jersey as a blank and had the numbers custom made and embroidered. The front consists of a royal blue felt logo. The back is very simple, but has that classic look with single layered tackle twill. This is the road version of the jersey worn by the team from 1955 to 1957 while playing in Brooklyn.


Born on 30 December 1935, Sanford Koufax grew up in the city of Brooklyn, NY. He attended the University of Cincinnati [later, Columbia University School of General Studies] and after trying out for several teams, he signed and committed to the Brooklyn Dodgers. In his rookie year with the club, he won his first World Series Championship and again in 1959 when the Dodgers relocated to Los Angeles, California.


Throughout the 1960s, Sandy Koufax would prove to be one of the best pitchers of the decade earning the 1963 NL MVP Award along with multiple World Series Championships/MVPs, Triple Crowns, and Cy Young Awards. He also pitched a perfect game on 9 September 1965 becoming the eighth player in league history to do so.

Blank Deck

Bought a new blank deck just for the hell of it.

Nike x LunarGlide 6

I came across a major steal at the department store in these LunarGlide 6 running shoes by Nike. I was in great need of a new pair and these are perfect.


Great improvements in the outsole and heel. I can't wait to take these out for the spring and summer.

Remind Insoles

Picked up two pairs of Remind Insoles at the S&J Sales warehouse. The model above is drawn by Jim Phillips and is the Medic shape.



So far, the Chico Brenes pro model Cush shape insoles are working great in my skate shoes.
